Pix Stories from the Motherland: Lagos

“Why am I blushing? I don’t know. Nobody ever asks to take my picture or tell my story.
“It’s nothing fancy. I’ve always saved up money. One holiday; I went with a friend on vacation. We travelled to Lagos. With the money; we bought clothes and accessories. I was surprised by how much profit I made by reselling it here. I made more trips. One thing led to another and now I own this shop.”
Lexicon Analysis: Lagos is a Nigerian city state; the largest city in all of Africa with 21 million residents as of 2015. It initially emerged as a port city with several islands. But it has grown beyond that to become a major financial center- with the highest GDP in all of Africa.
