The young lady embodies an infectious personality that marvels those who meet her. She can sometimes appear extremely daring but don’t let that fool you. It is this adorable nature that weeds out every doubt about her talent. Having been recognized as one of the newest faces of Nollywood, she looks forward to meeting and working with her idol Patience Ozokwor.
As I interview her, I can immediately tell she is resilient, very self-aware and has a certain savoir-fair about her. She knows what she wants and will not let society pressure her into getting jobs through whatever means.
When asked what she does when she is not acting or auditioning for roles, she says she enjoys the game of chess. She love meeting new people, listening to good music and seeing movies. Reading has exposed her to staying true to herself as a creative. The only challenge she faces is portraying her roles to the best of her ability.
“If she were not an actress” Chidimma says, “I would have been an Agriculturist”
She still looks forward to practicing Agriculture some day.
“Being an actress hasn’t been an easy journey. The somewhat negative reputation of the industry can put you at a disadvantage. Sometimes, people hate you for no reason but I have got no time for those that do not like me. I need their criticisms to becoming a better person. I reject movie scripts if it requires showing natural endowments for no moral lesson. I can’t just act nude or sleep with a movie director/producer to get jobs.” Chidimma adds
