If you thought the monochrome trend is just about pairing black and white pieces……..Well, think again! Monochrome can be on a black, white or grey scale but it can also mean one color or rather shades of a single color. So you can still rock the monochrome trend with color, just remember to stick with one color or different shades of a similar color. Want to try out the monochrome trend with some color but are afraid to look a bit cartoony? Here are a few tips:
Play with textures and proportions. That way, it doesn’t look too heavy and there’s a contrast between the pieces. This keeps the look more polished and interesting, it’s best to go with colors that match your skin tone.
Not really feeling the head to toe, same hue look? Break it up with neutral(s) or some color. You can do this with your accessories or clothing pieces, just like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley did with her trouser suit by layering a black top under the blazer.
Wear the color in varying shades either lighter or deeper from each other. The contrast gives it a chic and fresh look. For instance, if you want to wear all pink, you can wear a soft pink on top and pair it with a bold pink underneath or vice versa.
Those are my tips, wishing everybody a good weekend, thanks for stopping by, xoxo.
